Candidate Statement of Dr Greg Adamson

Dr Greg Adamson
Principal, Digital Risk Innovation
Chair, IEEE Design for Ethics Ad Hoc
Associate Professor, Melbourne School of Engineering, University of Melbourne

I joined ISoc in 1998, shortly before attending INet in San Jose in 1999 representing Medibank Private, and later served on the ISoc-Au board 2006-08. As a data communications engineer my Internet involvement started with an aid project I did in Indonesia in 1991 with Pegasus/APC (the PacTok project).

My current areas of focus are digital identity (co-chairing IEEE's new Digital Inclusion through Trust and Agency activity); cybersecurity and the health sector (an an Enterprise Fellow at the University of Melbourne); ethics in technology (chairing the IEEE Board of Directors Ad Hoc on Ethics); and blockchain governance (with IEEE and ISO). I see these as areas, among others, where IA could be productively engaged.
